I was on a wildlife photography tour in Lake Clark, Alaska. We were the last group for the season as it was near the end of the salmon run. This female coastal brown bear had waited until the tide had lowered so that the salmon were easy to see in the stream and would have difficulty swimming in the lower water. The bears would stand in the water looking for salmon from above and then drop down and charge at the fish. I had positioned myself on the bank of the stream to photograph the bears fishing. In this photo the brown bear named \"Agro\" by the locals was fixed on a salmon in front of me and came charging hard towards it and then pounced but unfortunately missed her intended meal.
