Learn everything you ever wanted to about photographing brown bears in the majestic Katmai National Park in the heart of Alaska.  From the moment you arrive and meet everyone at the welcome dinner to the second you leave and head back home, we are there to support, mentor and coach you both in and out of the field. These tours are about you! We want you to get the best shots ever and we will help you every step of the way.

Camping in Katmai National Park will allow for a truly immersive experience in which we will have unprecedented access to numerous brown bears throughout the day. In July bears are eating the sedge grasses and tend to be in the meadows from early morning to late evening. Bears are heavily concentrated in this area and our experienced bear guide is an established wildlife photographer and will ensure we will be in the best positions to take stunning photos. Accessible only by float plane, Katmai NP offers panoramic views that make for gorgeous photos and camping allows for continued viewing opportunities long after the last plane has left for the day.

About your tour leaders

Jennifer Hadley:

Jennifer Hadley is an award-winning wildlife photographer based in Raleigh, North Carolina. From the Arctic to Africa, to the last frontier and beyond; she captures unique behavior-based images and film that tells the stories of the world’s wildlife. She has been featured in international publications and co-produced the award-winning documentary film, “Right of Passage”, highlighting the plight of the critically endangered red wolves. Additionally, she co-produced a short film called “For the Love of Red Wolves”, which has been introduced into the public school system in children's classrooms throughout North Carolina. She is currently working with her team in partnership with Wildlands Network on a conservation project that will increase public awareness and help counties apply for and fund critical wildlife crossing structures in North Carolina. Jennifer was the grand prize winner as well as the People’s Choice winner of the 2022 Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards. She also placed 3rd in the North American Nature Photography Association Showcase in the same year. Jennifer is committed to helping photographers improve their photography skills based on their own unique aspirations and feels the greatest reward is gaining new voices to tell the stories of wildlife and the challenges they may face.

Donna Feledichuk:

With an undergraduate degree in sciences and a doctorate in Adult Education, Donna knows biology and knows how to teach! An award winning instructor and an award winning photographer Donna has been a finalist in the North American Nature Photography Association Showcase , Share the View, WildArt POTY, Nature Canada, Bird Photographer of the Year, Remembering Bears and Nature TTL and her works has been featured in print in both national and international publications. Named one of the top 16 wildlife photographers in Canada this past year by Influencer Digest + Donna lives in Northern Alberta, Canada and specializes in photographing the wildlife of the Boreal Forest. Widely known for her award winning great gray owl photos, Donna is a member of the Canadian Conservation Photographers Collective. She is committed to protecting wildlife in Canada and their habitat and is currently working on the collective's Crossing Paths campaign highlighting the issues when various modes of transportation intersect with wildlife. Donna routinely mentors aspiring wildlife photographers and hopes to inspire them to tell the story of the wildlife they experience from their own unique perspective and helps her students uncover their unique personal style.
