My Awards and Recognition
"Morning Glow" Top100 WildART photographer of the year in the category of Light, Top100 Remember Bears publication photo contest, Top 250 North American Nature Photography Association 2023 Showcase, finalist in the 2021 Natural World Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest, winner Sun Kissed Contest Advanced Category Journal of Wildlife Photography
My wildlife photography is driven by a purpose far greater than simply capturing beautiful images—it’s about conservation. Through my lens, I document and narrate the lives of Boreal Forest wildlife, aiming to raise awareness and foster a deeper understanding of these fragile ecosystems.
You might wonder why I participate in photo contests. It’s not for the accolades, but to elevate my profile, extend my reach, and amplify the impact of my conservation efforts. Each award and recognition brings more visibility to my work, drawing more people to follow my journey through my website, social media, and newsletter. As my audience grows, so does the reach of the stories I tell about the Boreal Forest’s wildlife, inspiring others to take action.
Awards also lend credibility to my work, which is crucial when advocating for the preservation of these incredible creatures and their habitats. The recognition helps to validate the importance of the cause, allowing me to be a more effective voice for conservation.
In 2023 I was named one of the top 16 willdlife photographers in Canada by infuence digest + and in 2024 one of the top 60 Canadian Photography YouTubers by FeedSpot and I am also accreditated by the Professional Photographers of Canada in the areas of wildlife, birds/ornithology, animals, and animal portraits.

It's not easy to make the more common animals of the boreal forests—like foxes, owls, moose, deer, and bears—stand out in international photo contests. They're competing against the likes of gorillas, whales, polar bears, lions, elephants, and cheetahs. I enter these contests to elevate the profile of boreal wildlife, presenting them in fresh and captivating ways that evoke emotion and resonate with the judges.
