A 8.5" x 5.5" notepad with a faded image of a fine art photograph of an elk moving through the grasses in a meadow in early fall.
This photo was taken in Jasper, Alberta in the fall of 2022. I travel each year to Jasper in the fall to photograph the rut. There are not many places where they elk like to graze that provide a clear view of the elk unobstructed by trees that allow for a view of the mountains. On this evening a few males were in this very clearing with some females close by. I watched as this elk made its way up the ridge. Smoke from the on-going forest fire near Snaring River hung in the air obscuring the bluish colored mountains and made for this hazed out background as the elk climbed the ridge.
