Wildlife Photography Mentorship
A guided path for photographers ready to grow, learn, and connect more deeply with their craft.

You may be having incredible wildlife encounters but still not creating the images you envisioned.

Perhaps you understand your camera but struggle to make strong decisions in the moment. Maybe your compositions feel repetitive, difficult light leaves you frustrated, or you are unsure why some images work while others fall short.

Watching another tutorial may give you more information. It may not tell you what your photography needs.

This private mentorship program gives you an individualized path forward. We will identify where you are now, clarify what you want to achieve, and focus on the skills and decisions that will make the greatest difference to your images.

Why This Program?

Because I have been where you are: passionate, curious, but sometimes unsure what to do next.

I know how isolating wildlife photography can be. It is a small but highly specialized area of photography, and much of the general photography advice available does not translate well to working with wildlife.

I have spent countless hours scrolling through YouTube videos looking for answers but not quite finding what I needed. You may have too.

That is what this mentorship offers: a place to ask questions without judgment and receive answers that apply directly to your photography. A review of your work, not someone else’s. A process that is supportive, flexible, and built around your needs. And a teacher who is genuinely invested in helping you succeed.

If you are ready to invest in your skills, your confidence and your voice as a photographer, I would love to be part of that journey.

You will receive:
  • Private one-on-one instruction tailored to your goals and skill level
  • An individualized photography development plan
  • Personalized shooting assignments
  • Detailed feedback on your images and progress
  • Ongoing email access throughout the program
  • Practical guidance grounded in real wildlife photography conditions
More than a series of coaching sessions:

A one-hour coaching session is ideal when you have a specific question and want a clear answer.

Mentorship is for photographers who want sustained growth.

We will work together over three or six months, one-on-one, giving you time to apply what you learn, practice in the field, receive feedback, and adjust your approach. Instead of collecting more disconnected tips, you will know what to focus on and why it matters to your photography.

The goal is not to make your images look like mine. It is to help you develop the technical skills, field awareness, and creative confidence to create stronger photographs that reflect your own vision.

How the mentorship works:

1. You complete a pre-meeting survey

Before our first session, you will complete a survey about your experience, current challenges, and photography goals. You will also have the opportunity to share examples of your work.

This allows me to understand where you are now and what you want to achieve before we meet. We will not spend your first session gathering basic information that could have been provided in advance.

2. We begin with a focused first session

Because I have reviewed your survey before our meeting, we can use our time to examine your photography, identify the areas that will make the greatest difference, and begin working toward your goals immediately.

3. I create your individualized plan

After our first session, I will develop a plan identifying the skills and areas we will focus on, along with clear steps you can take between meetings.

4. You put the learning into practice

You will receive personalized shooting assignments designed to stretch your creativity, strengthen your technique, and help you apply what we discuss.

5. You receive feedback on your progress

During our monthly sessions, we will review your work, discuss what you are noticing, and determine what you should focus on next.

6. You have support between meetings

Questions do not always arrive neatly during a scheduled Zoom call. Throughout the mentorship, you can contact me by email when you need clarification or timely feedback.

Spend Less Time Guessing and More Time Growing

There is no shortage of photography advice. The challenge is knowing which advice applies to you.

Without clear direction, it is easy to spend months watching tutorials, researching equipment, and trying disconnected techniques without understanding what is actually holding your photography back.

Mentorship helps you narrow the focus.

Instead of trying to improve everything at once, we identify the areas that will make the greatest difference to your work. You receive direct feedback on your images, practical assignments, and a clear plan to follow between sessions.

This can save you time, frustration, and money spent searching for solutions that do not address the real problem. More importantly, it helps you arrive at future wildlife encounters better prepared to recognize the opportunity and create the image you envisioned.

What You Can Expect From the Mentorship

I will provide honest feedback, individualized guidance, and clear steps designed around your photography and goals. At each session, I review your progress and help you understand what to focus on next.

Your progress will also depend on the time you spend applying the guidance, completing assignments, and practicing between sessions. Wildlife photography does not offer predictable subjects or conditions, but with thoughtful practice and a willingness to try new approaches, you can develop stronger skills, make more intentional decisions, and gain greater confidence in the field.

If you only need help with one specific question or challenge, the one-hour Wildlife Photography Coaching Session may be a better fit.

This Mentorship Is for You If
  • You are passionate about wildlife photography but feel your progress has slowed
  • You are having meaningful wildlife encounters without consistently creating the images you envisioned
  • You want guidance tailored to your own work rather than another general course
  • You are ready to practice, experiment, and apply feedback between sessions
  • You want honest feedback that helps you understand both what is working and what needs to improve
  • You want more clarity, confidence, and intention in the field
  • You value ethical wildlife photography and respect for your subjects

You do not need to be an advanced photographer. You need to be open to learning and willing to put what we discuss into practice.

Why Learn With Me?

Being an accomplished photographer and knowing how to teach photography are not the same thing.

I bring both.

I am an award-winning wildlife photographer and educator with more than 25 years of teaching experience. My work has been recognized internationally and published by National Geographic, BBC Wildlife and Canadian Geographic.

But this mentorship is not about my accomplishments. It is about using what I have learned in the field, through my own development and through decades of teaching, to help you understand what will make the greatest difference to your photography.

I understand both photography and how people learn. I will not overwhelm you with everything you could possibly know or ask you to follow a formula that does not fit your goals. I will help you identify what matters most at this stage of your development and explain how to apply it in the field.

My own growth as a photographer did not come from purchasing more equipment or repeating the same approach. It came from studying my images honestly, learning to see differently, and becoming more intentional about every decision I made.

That experience shapes how I mentor. I know how to look beyond the surface of an image, identify the decisions that shaped it, and explain what you can do differently the next time you are in the field.

I will encourage you, but I will also give you the direct and specific feedback needed to help your work improve. My role is not to make your photography look like mine. It is to help you develop the skills, confidence, and creative voice to make it unmistakably your own.
