Description This photo was taken in Grasslands National Park in May of 2024. As I was out in the early morning before sunrise watching burrowing owls I was sitting very still. My only movement was the occasional raising of my camera to take photos. As I watched the owl I noticed not behind it a coyote moved along the ridge of the coulee. I watched it for a while, when I moved slightly to face it to take a photo it paused momentarily before moving along in its easy trot.
