The Weight of Survival Limited Edition Print
In Stock and Ready to Ship
Location: Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
It was wildebeest calving season, and anything that worried the herd could quickly cause panic. As the wildebeest crossed the water, a lion entered and deliberately placed itself in their path. The frightened herd changed direction and swam back toward the opposite shore. Moments later, panic drove them to turn once again and attempt the crossing.
For the lion, it was well planned. There was no chase and no wasted energy, only the patience to watch and wait. When the herd finally emerged from the water, at least a dozen wildebeest calves had been left behind. This was survival stripped of sentiment: one enduring because another could not.
