Description This photo was taken in September of 2021. This expressive and entertaining cub was the sole survivor of a litter of three cubs. His mother has gotten all the cubs through their first year, but early in their second year shortly after they emerged from their den a boar killed the two other cubs. Understandably the mother kept her last cub very close. As the mom fished in the stream this cub laid and slept while waiting for her to bring them supper.
